This intimate ‘surf-orientated’ health & wellness retreat focuses on integrating all aspects of ‘the self’ to elevate physical and mental wellbeing along with conscious awareness to uncover latent potential within.

An integrated surf culture experience incorporating dynamic surf action, vinyasa-inspired yoga, breath work, meditation, conscious eating, community, conservation and more adventure.

Beginner, intermediate & experienced surfers welcome, we’ll tailor the action to suite everyone’s comfort levels. No ‘previous yoga experience’ is required, only an open-mind and curious soul.

Our local surf enthusiast, Sean Holmes with decades of experience surfing destinations all around the world and having competed at the highest level will put you at the right spot at the right time. “My love for the ocean will be my gift to you”, says Sean.

Our Yogi:

Jeannie Holmes is a blessing, an extremely talented and knowledgable devote to the ancient ’traditional’ practice of Yoga. With an established practice in Cape Town and more than a decade of yoga running through her being, Jeannie remains grounded by her resolve to heal – integrating the science, philosophy and art of yoga, along with detailed alignment and the intricacies of anatomy and physiology.

Yoga Props:

Quality Yoga mats and various props to assist are provided. No previous Yoga experience required.

All, Average to Advanced. Surfing, Stand-Up Paddle Boarding, Yoga, Breath, Meditation, Hiking, Cycling, Swimming, Kloofing, Being Still.

DAY 1:

Welcome to Villa Sol, our coastal retreat graced by the iconic long white sands of The Wilderness, a Garden Route seaside village set amongst indigenous forests, intertwining rivers and tree-fringed lakes.

Checkin is between 2-5pm.

Meet your hosts, register, unpack your bags, familiarise yourself with your surroundings and then relax for the remainder of the afternoon.

60min Vinyasa Restorative Stretch Class will be offered on Sunset (on premise)

Dinner –  your hosts will present the planned itinerary for the coming days.

21:00 – Day 1 Complete, Rest well.

DAY 2-5:

As this is a surf-orientated retreat, it is impossible to commit to a program in advance. The daily program will be dictated by the forces of nature, the wind, the tide and predicted swell forecast.  Regardless, every day will be packed with the following activities to ‘feed-your-soul’.

The garden route is packed with amazing surf locations and waves suiting all levels of capabilities. You will be treated to great variety and scenic beauty.

The Daily Workshop

Here we dive into topics related to mind, body, soul and our natural environment. We look at practical ways and solutions to becoming better versions of ourselves as well as ways to protect the resources that sustain life on this planet.

Daily Adventure Activity

The Wilderness presents an abundance of outdoor adventure activities accessible and suitable to all levels of expertise & skill. Depending on the weather and a groups specific preference it will be decided which activities a group will do during the retreat. Activities include, but are not limited to: Hiking along the pristine coastline, along the river estuaries into rich indigenous forest and/or up into the Outenique Mountains. Swimming in the Ocean, Rockpools, River and/or exploring a variety of waterfalls. Mountain Biking, Stand-up Paddle Boarding, Canoeing, Kite-Surfing and / or Surfing are all accessible or you may prefer to go Tandem Paragliding available from 3 unique view points in the area. Fishing, Diving… the list goes on.


Following the ancient practice of Yoga Nidra, you will be transitioned into a state of ‘dynamic sleep’ enabling the body to deeply relax while the mind remains fully lucid. Also referred to as a ‘hypnagogic state’ – its the threshold between alpha and theta waves, that fine line between where the body sleeps while the mind remains acutely aware. The world of epiphanies.


Happy, healthy living requires awareness. Awareness of the mind, body and environment. You cannot be healthy in an unhealthy environment. In partnership with the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT) we explore practical ways to integrate conservation into everyday life to promote the preservation of our wildlife and natural resources to secure a better future for all. The responsibility lies with us, now.
